"Secret Spaces" – An Immersive Event Series

"Secret Spaces", presented by The Rooted Door, is an immersive event series that unveils a hidden world. For 3 weekends, we will transform a "secret space"—never before revealed in this way to the public—into a captivating environment of artistic performances, music, and theatrical storytelling.

What to Expect?

Step inside a historic church, spanning roughly 10,000 square feet, transformed into a realm of mystery and wonder. Your journey begins in a lounge inspired by the iconic Tampa Bay Hotel, where handcrafted cocktails and theatrical surprises set the tone for what lies ahead.

Invited in small, intimate groups, guests explore a series of secret rooms revealing pop-up performances by actors, musicians, and dancers. Each room tells a unique story inspired by the immigrants who made Tampa the rich melting pot it became—people who journeyed from across the globe seeking new lives filled with hope and opportunity.

The stories weave through different eras, spanning from the early 1900s to the 1960s, drawing inspiration from treasured Tampa neighborhoods like Ybor City, West Tampa, and Central Avenue—just to name a few.

This experience invites you to explore your own imagination, interpret the narratives, and connect deeply with Tampa’s past.  The entire event feels as if you’ve stepped into a dream, where moments from Tampa’s incredible history are told through our own immersive, interpretive lens.
